FAQs
Did you know? Glacier National Park Trivia
-
The Crown of the Continent: Glacier National Park is often called the “Crown of the Continent.” It encompasses over 1 million acres of stunning wilderness and is home to the famous Going-to-the-Sun Road—a feat of engineering that takes you through the heart of the park’s glaciers and alpine meadows.
-
The Flathead Valley Legacy: Before it was a favorite destination for hikers and skiers, the Flathead Valley was shaped by ancient glacial activity that carved the dramatic U-shaped valleys and deep, crystalline lakes we see today. The valley floor rests on massive deposits left behind as the great continental glaciers receded over 10,000 years ago.
What makes Tahoevhrs a “Boutique” agency? Unlike large, corporate-managed aggregators, Tahoevhrs is a locally-managed, boutique hospitality firm. We physically operate in Lake Tahoe, CA, and Flathead County, MT. We personally vet every property for quality, cleanliness, and character, ensuring that your stay—whether in a cabin or a luxury home—meets a rigorous, high-end standard.
How far are your properties from the ski resorts?
-
Lake Tahoe: Most properties are within 2.5 miles of Heavenly Village and the gondola, offering easy access to world-class terrain, shopping, and nightlife.
-
Montana: Our properties in Columbia Falls and Kalispell are strategically located to be your year-round basecamp, typically 20 minutes from the entrance to Glacier National Park and 20 minutes from Whitefish Mountain Resort.
Do I need a car for my trip?
-
Lake Tahoe: Rideshare services (Uber/Lyft) and public transit are readily available in South Lake Tahoe.
-
Montana: A personal or rental vehicle is highly recommended for exploring Glacier National Park and the surrounding Flathead Valley, as public transportation is limited in the mountain corridor.
What is the best way to get to your destinations?
-
Lake Tahoe: Please visit our Tahoe Travel Page for the latest shuttle schedules from Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO).
-
Montana: We recommend flying into Glacier Park International Airport (FCA) in Kalispell, which offers excellent access to our properties in Columbia Falls and Whitefish.
What if the weather is bad? We operate in “true” mountain environments. We cannot predict weather conditions, and we do not issue refunds for inclement weather in either California or Montana. We strongly recommend purchasing trip insurance to protect your investment should travel become difficult.
Why are your community rules strict regarding noise and occupancy? Local municipalities in both Lake Tahoe and Flathead County have strictly enforced ordinances regarding vacation rentals. Violations carry significant fines (often $1,000+) for both guests and owners, and can jeopardize our operating permits. We prioritize being good neighbors to maintain the quiet enjoyment of our mountain communities.
What is the Check-in/Check-out policy?
-
Check-in: After 4:00 PM local time.
-
Check-out: No later than 11:00 AM. Requests for early arrivals or late departures must be approved by Tahoevhrs in advance. For Early Check-ins and/or Late Check-outs without our prior approval, there is a fee of $400 for both or $200 for either early check-in or late check-outs.
How do I access my vacation rental? We prioritize your security and ease of access. All Tahoevhrs properties are equipped with keyless entry systems or secure lockboxes. You will receive a personalized access code prior to your arrival, allowing for a seamless check-in experience.
What amenities are provided with my booking? Our properties are fully furnished with chef-ready kitchens (microwave, coffee maker, toaster, utensils) and premium bed linens and towels. We provide a “boutique starter pack” of essentials—trash liners, toilet paper, hand soap, dishwasher soap, and bathroom toiletries. Laundry facilities are also stocked with initial starter supplies.
Can I ship packages to the house? For security reasons and given the high volume of access by our service teams, we cannot accept mail or packages at our vacation rental properties.
Are your properties pet-friendly? Select properties are pet-friendly. If a home allows pets, there is a maximum of two pets per booking with an associated cleaning and maintenance fee ($50–$150 per pet). Please check the individual property listing details.
Is there RV or trailer parking available? Due to strict local zoning and community parking ordinances, our rental properties cannot accommodate RVs, trailers, or campers. Please contact us before your arrival if you have specialized transport requirements, and we will direct you to off-site storage.
